The medicine in every bottle begins long before it reaches you — in the soil, in the hands of the people who grow and gather, and in the care we bring to every step of the process. Here's how we source.
"I started Stardust Apothecary because I couldn't find plant medicine I trusted — medicine that was made with the same reverence I felt for the plants themselves. Everything about how we source is an extension of that. The quality of what you feel is directly connected to the quality of what went in."
— Tiana Griego, Clinical Herbalist & Founder
Whenever possible, we source wildcrafted herbs — plants gathered from their natural habitat by skilled foragers who understand sustainable harvest. Wildcrafted plants grow in their ideal environment, developing the full complexity of their medicinal compounds without interference. We believe the land itself is part of the medicine.
When wildcrafted isn't available or sustainable, we use certified organic herbs from small, trusted farms. We don't work with large industrial suppliers. Our partners are small-scale growers who share our values — people who know their land, their plants, and their craft.
We dual-extract our tinctures using both water and alcohol to capture the complete spectrum of each plant's beneficial compounds. Water extraction draws out polysaccharides and water-soluble constituents. Alcohol extraction captures resins, alkaloids, and fat-soluble compounds. Together, they give you the whole plant — nothing left behind.
Every batch is made by hand in small quantities. We don't rush the process. Tinctures are macerated for weeks, not days. Each formula is tasted, tested, and refined before it reaches you. Small batch means we can maintain quality control at every step — and it means the person making your medicine actually cares about it.
Our tinctures contain only what's on the label — herbs, water, and organic cane alcohol or vegetable glycerin. No artificial preservatives, no synthetic additives, no shortcuts.
We only work with foragers and farms that practice sustainable harvest — never taking more than the land can regenerate. Ethical wildcrafting means leaving enough for the ecosystem and for future harvests.
Every product page lists the full ingredient list, the extraction method, and the plant's Latin name. We believe you deserve to know exactly what you're putting in your body.
We do not use any herbs listed as endangered or at-risk by United Plant Savers. When a plant is under pressure, we find an equally effective alternative rather than contribute to its decline.
We prioritize long-term relationships with our suppliers — paying fair prices, communicating directly, and supporting the people who grow and gather our medicine. Good medicine starts with good relationships.
